Dragon Fly

Medium: Hand Forged Steel, Rebar and Stained Glass

The dragon fly, with it’s folded rebar body, has stained glass inlays for the wings.

“Spending time in the wine country, I had witnessed multiple dragonflies. Never seeing one that close before, I was able to connect the outlines of the dragonfly to my technique of sculpting. The color of their wings were an immediate reminder of iridescent glass. It came to me to combine steel together with glass.” – Tammy Bickel, Artist
